We'd rather be honest than reassuring
Allergen safety has no such thing as a 100% guarantee — cross-contamination, labelling errors, and kitchen mistakes are real. Here's exactly what AllerLink does and doesn't do, and why.
No absolute-safety claims, anywhere
You will never see “100% safe”, “guaranteed safe”, or “completely clean” on AllerLink — not in the app, not on this site. Every result is shown relative to a profile: “no flagged allergens — matches your profile”, not a blanket promise. Overpromising here isn't just a legal risk — it's the kind of mistake that can put someone with a severe allergy in real danger.
The waiter handoff is part of this by design. AllerLink is a discovery and guidance tool, not a substitute for confirming verbally with the restaurant before you order.
AllerLink never guesses at your allergies
Some tools suggest allergens you “might also want to avoid” based on ones you've already flagged — for example, hinting that a walnut allergy means you should also avoid almonds. AllerLink does not do this, on purpose, permanently. That kind of suggestion is medical advice, and getting it wrong can be actively harmful. AllerLink only ever checks against allergens you have explicitly told it to watch for.
The full allergen list, wherever you are
AllerLink never narrows the list of allergens you can select based on your region or a restaurant's country. You always see and can choose from the complete global list. Regional allergen standards differ, and people travel — a list scoped to one region's rules could hide an allergen that matters right now, which is a risk this product isn't willing to take.
How verification actually works
Every allergen flag you see on an AllerLink menu was entered by that restaurant's own chef, ingredient by ingredient, and confirmed with a formal, PIN-signed declaration before the menu ever went live. Once signed off, that declaration is preserved exactly as it was — it can't be edited or deleted afterwards.

Your data
